Every story begins with a moment. A flash of inspiration, a memory etched in colours, sounds, and feelings. Mine began in 2004, at Muthoot Plaza; now Hilton Garden Inn in Thiruvananthapuram; during a birthday party that still shines in my heart like a spotlight on a stage. It was my cousin Anjali Asmi Syed’s celebration. There were balloons in the air, laughter echoing across the hall, bright decorations, and a cake that was too pretty to cut. It wasn’t just a party; it was magic. And I knew, even as a young girl, that this world of celebration was where I belonged.
Growing up in a family that celebrated life made all the difference. My parents, Fathima Beevi and Salim Jahan Khan, made sure that I was part of every function, wedding, and festival. Along with my brother Aashik Khan, I would attend events wide-eyed, absorbing every colour, detail, and emotion. Whether it was the intricate decorations, the coordination of rituals, or the expressions on people’s faces; everything fascinated me.
My journey started early. In 8th standard, I began offering Mehndi services; not casually, but professionally. It was my first step into independence and purpose. Applying henna wasn’t just art to me; it was connection, culture, and beauty. Slowly, brides started asking for me by name. I earned my pocket money, interacted with people from different backgrounds, and learned how to carry responsibility. By the time I finished my schooling, I was deeply rooted in the world of events. I had unknowingly mastered multiple roles; stylist, planner, coordinator, comfort-giver. I started assisting in all aspects of weddings, from logistics to creative design. It felt natural, like I had been preparing for it all my life.
Then came a moment that shaped both my personal and professional journey; my own wedding. I had the joy and responsibility of designing every aspect, from the intricate Mehndi to the vibrant Sangeet, from floral themes to the reception flow. It was a dream unfolding with every detail, and I poured my heart into it. My husband, Nisham Khan, supported me with unwavering faith, and his family embraced my creativity with warmth and encouragement. That experience deepened my passion and strengthened my path. As life gracefully moved ahead, so did my family. Today, I am a proud mother of two wonderful little ones, Aafiya Khan and Abraam Khan, whose laughter fills my world and keeps me inspired every single day.
The professional milestone that turned a personal dream into a public identity came through encouragement from my cousins, the Asmi sisters. They were the ones who insisted; “You’ve come so far. Now let the world see you.” Their belief in me was louder than my doubts. And that’s how Al Ash Events came to life; a vision that carried my name, my heart, and the many hands that stood with me. The event industry that once lived in halls and homes is now evolving into an experience-driven world. India’s event landscape is growing rapidly, driven by changing lifestyles, deeper emotions, and a desire for unforgettable memories. Al Ash Events has grown along this tide, evolving with every event, every client, and every learning moment.

My love for innovation has taken me into tech-enabled services as well. I have co-developed NoteMyDate, a beautiful digital invitation platform, alongside Dr. Meera Asmi and Dr. Merin Jacob; both incredible women from the best environmental NGO; We Grow Forest Foundation. This tool combines convenience, aesthetics, and sustainability; something I care deeply about.
Today, Al Ash Events is proudly counted among the best event companies in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, and has worked across states and with people from different cultures, faiths, and visions. Whether it’s a wedding in a temple, a reception in a resort, a birthday at home, or a corporate launch in a convention center; we bring the same level of passion, planning, and precision. I wanted Al Ash Events website to be more than a list of services; it had to honour the journey that shaped who I am and why I do what I do. In most websites, when you read the About section, you expect a few polished lines about experience and services. But I chose to write my story; the real one. Because Al Ash grew with me, through every Mehndi cone, every sleepless night, every applause, every tear, and every beautiful moment; thank you from my clients!
